Debate Zoos Should Be Closed
Animals in zoos are not in a natural existence.
Debate zoos should be closed. Most major cities have a zoo and they attract thousands of visitors. Following pressure from biaza a debate on the reopening of zoos and aquariums is now set to take place in parliament on june 11. We do not need to confine animals in zoos to learn. Having zoos can even save some animals from going extinct.
This debate pack encourages students to think about whether zoos should be allowed to continue or whether all animals should be released into the wild. No zoos should not be closed because they help the children learn about animals. Many animals have lost their nature to hunt to capture and even to run. But how ethical is it to keep animals in a cage.
The zoos are there to help the animals and it helps people have a job that they love and a place for families to visit and give money to the government which in turn helps the economy. No zoos are fun. However zoos should be closed down if people would like to truly know and protect animals. No they should not.
Some zoos treat animals humanely and the ones that don t should be treated harshly and penalized. On the other hand organizations such as peta people for the ethical treatment of animals animal aid and born free have initiated campaigns for the closure of zoos arguing that most zoos deprive animals from their most basic needs and that animal abuse and suffering should not be a source of entertainment. Zoos should not be closed down.
